Text Box: Shanahan of Phelpston is a privately owned manufacturer of solid waste containers located in the hamlet of Phelpston, just north of Barrie, ON. The owner Jack Shanahan started the business over 60 years ago as a vehicles repair garage and progressed to manufacturing self propelled forge harvesters and then solid waste containers approximately 45 years ago. Shanahan of Phelpston specializes in the solid waste industry but also branches out to complete custom manufacturing projects for many different industries. In recent years, the increase in the population of black bears in populated areas, has made our Animal Proof Line of containers very popular. Mr. Shanahan currently operates the business with his son, Martin in charge of sales and daughter Martha as the office manager.
